Cd 2 features the latter days 1969 - 85. With the Tom Waits track being the most recent recording on this mix. The label continues to release records, but nothing great enough to knock any of these tracks from the mix. Disc 2 is not as chronological as the first, it's mixed up a little, it plays better this way, I think..

2009 is the 50th anniversary of the founding of Island Records, arguably the most prestigious record label in the history of British music. No doubt there will be an official compilation released at some point this year. But for now a look at 50 essential tracks released on the label. Disc one covers 1959-69 and some of the early reggae cuts. You'll find some little known gems in between the classics here, but every track will have you on your feet..
